Spouse Registration (includes March 21 Reception and Awards Dinner only): $40
Full refunds for FRA registration fees will be made for cancellations received by March 14, 2018. Because of food, beverage, transportation, and other guaranteed fees, we will not grant refunds for cancellations made after March 14, 2018. In addition, pre-registered no-shows who do not cancel by March 14, 2018 will be billed for the appropriate registration fee.

About Newberry, South Carolina
The FRA meeting will take place in Newberry’s downtown historic district. It’s a true old-fashioned town center with excellent shopping and dining opportunities and entire blocks in which every building is on the National Registry of Historic Places. Special historic attractions include the Newberry Opera House and the Newberry Firehouse. The Firehouse Conference Center—located across the street from the Hampton Inn—is where all FRA meeting events will take place.

Nearly every southern state has a few towns or crossroads where the forest industry observer can see log trucks and forest products trucks hauling wood to and from multiple wood-using facilities. Newberry is one of those towns, with wood products manufacturing facilities all around the area.
Hotel Reservation Information
The Hampton Inn Newberry-Opera House (1201 Nance St., Newberry, SC 29108) has reserved a block of rooms in Forest Resources Association’s name to be held until March 13, 2018. Reservations can be made by calling the Hampton Inn at 803-276-6666. Please refer to the “Forest Resources Association Conference Block” to receive our discounted group rate.

Cancellation Policy:
You must cancel your reservation 24 hours before your day of arrival to avoid a cancellation penalty.
Hotel check-in time is 3:00 PM; checkout time is 11:00 AM.

Continuing Education Credits
FRA is applying to the Society of American Foresters to assign Continuing Forestry Education (CFE) credits for Wednesday’s General Session and Thursday’s Forestry Field Trip. CFE contact hour notice forms will be provided at the meeting.
Dress
Dress for all the indoor meeting functions, including the Awards Dinner, is “forestry business casual” (slacks and sports shirts).
For the Forestry Field Trip, please bring your own hardhat, eye protection, high-visibility vest, hearing protection, and work boots, if possible.
Additional Details on the Forestry Field Trip – Thursday, March 22
The Field Trip bus will depart from outside the Hampton Inn promptly at 8 AM. Here is a summary of what we will see on the Field Trip:
- Colombo Energy (soon to be Enviva) wood pellet woodyard and manufacturing facility near Greenwood, SC.
- Norbord’s woodyard and OSB mill near Joanna, SC. (Lunch on site provided by Norbord.)
Please bring your own hardhat, eye protection, high-visibility vest, hearing protection, and work boots.
The Field Trip bus will return to the Hampton Inn by approximately 1:30 PM
